Today the 34th Moscow International Book Fair (MIBF), held from 24 to 27 September at Expocentre Fairgrounds, opened. It is organised by General Directorate of International Book Exhibitions and Fairs, supported by the Russian Ministry of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media, the Russian Book Union and the Moscow Government.
The Moscow International Book Fair is the largest book forum in Russia and Eastern Europe, held since 1977. This year over 200 companies from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Germany, Greece, Egypt, Iran, China, Mongolia and Russia are taking part in the exhibition. The exposition with a total area of almost 3,500 sq. m (net) is spread over four halls in Pavilion 5 and outdoor pavilions on the territory of Expocentre Fairgrounds.
Over 200 publishers from various regions of Russia are presenting their books and programmes. The much-anticipated 2021 novelties, bestsellers, fiction, educational, children's literature, non-fiction, art books, museum editions and much more can be found here.
Over the four days of the MIBF, more than 300 events will take place in online and offline formats, including meetings with popular authors, book presentations, open discussions, and master classes.
An extensive conference programme has been prepared for industry professionals. The Russian Book Union together with the Ministry of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media will hold the conference "Russian Book Market 2021". The 2nd International Conference "World Book Industry in the New Realities: New Technologies, New Challenges, New Prospects" will take place. There will be thematic roundtables and other events.
Parents with children will be able to meet the authors of children's books, present new children's literature, contests and lectures. The leading museums and publishers of art books will also be presenting their novelties at the MIBF. Museum curators will tell visitors about new exhibitions, their catalogues and related educational projects.
