The Metalloobrabotka 2021 international exhibition continues. The Conference on Industrial Robotics was held today within the framework of the business program. It was organised by EXPOCENTRE AO, the Russian Association of Robotics (RAR) together with the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade.

The first session was devoted to the industrial robotics as a method to achieve national goals of the Russian Federation.

Alisa Konyukhovskaya, the moderator of the conference and Executive Director of the Russian Association of Robotics, spoke about the development of the Russian robotics market that is a condition for better productivity of Russian companies. During the presentation she spoke about what is happening with robotics in the world and how it affects Russian companies.

“Our market currently incudes 80 players. Most of them are industrial robotics companies, those delivering robots to Russia, Russian manufacturers and integrators. Many companies consider using robots, which improves labor effectiveness, reduces costs, boosts productivity and competitiveness of industries. Robotics helps to reduce prices, production defects, ensure safety. Around 370 thousand industrial robots are installed annually. It is also important to create jobs for highly skilled experts and attract young specialists”, she said.

Ivan Kugoev, Head of the unit for the development of modern manufacturing facilities of the Russian Industry and Trade Ministry’s Machine Tool and Heavy Engineering Department, said: “Two tasks are to be solved in order to develop robotics. The first task is to expand the market for robotics application in Russia. It is closely linked to other industries. The second task is to increase the share of Russian robotics on the market of the Russian Federation”.

Pavel Fomin, Head of the Directorate for Investment Project Expertise, the Industry Development Fund, delivered a report on the issue “Tools used by the Industry Development Fund for the industrial robotisation of companies”. Dmitry Kaynov, Head of the robotics sales department for FANUC, told the audience about localisation of the best global robotisation practices in Russia.

Other sessions’ participants spoke about measures of support companies may use during robotisation, about innovations Russian metalworking industries need. The leading manufacturers and developers of robotic sets spoke about how to choose a supplier and to train the staff, what industrial tasks may be robotised, how to avoid pitfalls while introducing new technologies.

Manufacturers and integrators of robotic solutions shared their experience in the introduction of robots at Russian companies. They provided specific examples of which effect is obtained from the introduction of robots, what payback can be received from the introduction or robotised solutions and gave recommendations how to prepare companies to robotisation.
