The 4th edition of RENWEX International Exhibition and Forum has opened at EXPOCENTRE Fairgrounds. It is a major event in the field of renewable energy and electric vehicles in Russia.

The show demonstrates equipment and technologies for solar, wind and hydro power, electric transport and grid infrastructure, services of service companies for installation, commissioning and maintenance of various RES equipment, solid household waste as a renewable energy source, solutions for RES integration, and much more. Particular attention is paid to training qualified personnel for the industry, as well as supporting the development of Russian researchers and industry professionals.

At the official opening ceremony, Vladimir Kononov, Deputy Chair at the Russian State Duma Committee on Science and Higher Education, stressed that mankind needs affordable energy and a single form of energy cannot meet this demand. “Our country today possesses the entire range of energy technologies,” said Vladimir Kononov. “The State Duma is preparing a number of bills on hydropower and nuclear energy. These bills will allow, on the one hand, to strengthen control in the field of safety and prevention of emergencies, and, on the other hand, will enable business to work more actively in this direction.”

In addition, Vladimir Kononov noted that RENWEX is an important stage in the implementation of the NTI Expo project (Science-Technology-Innovations Expo), which is organised by the Russian State Duma Committee on Science and Higher Education, the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and EXPOCENTRE AO with the support of relevant ministries to accelerate the introduction of modern technological advances in industrial production.

Ekaterina Chaban, representative of the Russian Ministry of Science and Higher Education, read a welcome address by Ayrat Gatiyatov, Acting Minister of Science and Higher Education of Russia, which said, in particular, that the development of renewable energy sources and electric transport is an absolute priority for this country's energy security and technological sovereignty in the emerging socio-economic realities. In today's environment, scientific research and training of qualified personnel in this field are increasingly in demand.

Sergey Selivanov, First Deputy Director General at EXPOCENTRE AO, welcomed the participants to RENWEX 2023. He said that more than 70 companies from Russia, China and Belarus would present their innovative solutions and technologies at this year's show. He separately noted the participation of companies from four federal districts and eleven regions of Russia. “Over the years, the project has established itself as an effective platform for demonstrating advanced developments in the field of renewable energy and electric transport, as well as a place for discussions and exchange of experience of leading experts, representatives of the energy industry,” said Sergey Selivanov.

RENWEX is open till 22 June.
