Russian Construction Week 2023, a large-scale exhibition and congress event aimed at implementing national projects and government programmes in the field of housing renovation, forming a modern urban environment, and supporting low-rise housing construction, opened at Expocentre Fairgrounds.
This year, the Week combines two iconic industry exhibitions: RosBuild 2023, the International Exhibition for Building and Finishing Materials and Technologies, and Mir Stekla 2023, the International Exhibition for Glass Products, Manufacturing, Processing and Finishing Technology. Another central event of Russian Construction Week 2023 is the Building the Future of Russia Together Forum. During plenary sessions, roundtables, thematic sessions its participants discuss measures of state support and digitalisation of the construction industry, development of infrastructure of new territories, green construction and other topical issues.
120 companies from Russia, Belarus, Turkiye and Iran are taking part in RosBuild 2023. The exhibition covers various aspects of the modern construction industry: from the use of BIM technologies and IT solutions in design to the use of innovative building and finishing materials and engineering systems. A special place at the exhibition is occupied by the Low-Rise Housing Salon. The Energy Efficient Construction and Technology platform introduces developments and projects in green construction.
At the same time, 100 companies from China, the Czech Republic, France, Hungary, Hong Kong (China), India, Italy, Russia, Turkiye and the USA are exhibiting at Mir Stekla 2023. They are demonstrating the latest equipment and technologies for the production of sheet glass, glass containers, tools and materials, scientific and design developments, medical, construction, furniture, interior, automotive glass, and artistic and decorative glass products.
Such a combination of related industry exhibitions on a single platform makes it possible to expand their target audience, to attract additional professional visitors, industry specialists interested in the novelties of both the construction and glass industries.
EXPOCENTRE AO, as the organiser of the Week, is supported by the Russian Ministry of Construction, Housing and Utilities, the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Moscow City Government, leading industry associations, and the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
The official opening of Russian Construction Week 2023 took place today during the plenary session of the 8th Russian Meeting on the Development of Housing Construction, which kicked off the numerous events of the busy and varied conference programme.
In the welcome address to the participants in the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin noted that Russian Construction Week is a large-scale platform, which for many years brings together representatives of the authorities and the construction business to discuss issues affecting the further development of the industry and improve the living standards of citizens. Dialogue between the government and business is more important today than ever before. Despite the challenges faced by the industry in the past year, it is a driver of our country's economic development.
The past year went down in history as a record for the country in terms of housing commissioning and the volume of work done in construction, said the Deputy Prime Minister. Among the important challenges of today he named digitalisation of the industry, import substitution and expressed satisfaction that these issues were the main topics of Russian Construction Week.
The plenary session, moderated by Leonid Kazinets, President of the National Association of Housing Developers, was also attended by: Nikita Stasishin, Deputy Minister of Construction, Housing and Utilities of the Russian Federation; Sergey Pakhomov, Chairman of the State Duma Committee for Construction, Housing and Utilities; Elena Martynova, Deputy Head of the Federal Service for State Registration Cadastre and Cartography; Efim Basin, Chairman of the Russian CCI Committee for Entrepreneurship in Construction; Anton Glushkov, President of the National Association of Builders, Ivan Polandov, CEO of PIK Group and other prominent businessmen and experts.
They considered further development of housing construction in the Russian Federation in the current geopolitical and economic situation, import substitution and stimulation of investment activities in housing construction, state subsidising of mortgages for new buildings, transition of the construction industry to project financing, simplification of construction procedures and other important issues.
The plenary session ended with the award ceremony for the winners in the Top Residential Complexes Contest 2023, the largest housing construction competition in our country.
According to Efim Basin, the contest is taking place for the fourth year in a row, its prestige is growing and the number of participants is increasing dramatically. A record number of nominees took part in this year's competition - 1,057 housing complexes from 673 developers. They were evaluated in 144 categories - federal, county and regional. More than 400 qualified experts from 56 regions of Russia took part in the assessment of new building complexes. The winners were housing complexes from 293 developers.
Today, the winners in 9 federal nominations were awarded.
Russian Construction Week 2023 runs until March 3.
