A plenary session of the 11th Congress of the Photonics Technology Platform was held within Photonics 2023 at EXPOCENTRE Fairgrounds.
The first presentation named the Nobel Prize in Physics 2022. Quantum Physics: from Puzzle to Technology was given by Evgeny Kiktenko of the Russian Quantum Centre. His main message was that quantum mechanics are a set of mathematical rules to describe and predict the behaviour of nature at microscopic scales.
The session was moderated by President of the Laser Association Ivan Kovsh. According to him, photonics technologies are actively used in medicine. “Western experts believe that the main market for photonics today is health care,” said Mr. Kovsh. Surgeon and radiotherapist of Lyovshin Institute of Cluster Oncology Artem Shiryaev talked about the application of photonics technologies in oncological diagnostics and treatment, and the phototheranostics of tumour diseases.
Holographic Technologies: Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow was the topic of the report made by Professor Vladimir Venediktov of St. Petersburg Electrotechnical University ‘LETI’. Professor Xiao Zhu, Head at the National Engineering Research Center for Laser Processing at Huazhong
