The largest international food exhibition in Russia and Eastern Europe Prodexpo helps exhibitors boost sales and enter new markets in Russian regions, the CIS and other countries, according to the exhibitors themselves and independent studies.

A quarter of Prodexpo exhibitors pin business development hopes on the supply of food products to CIS countries, the Romir research holding said in a statement. Exhibitors also remain interested in procurers from Russian regions, first of all Moscow and central regions.

Twenty percent of Russian exhibitors identify themselves as exporters. Most of their products are exported to CIS countries, primarily Belarus and Kazakhstan. Their other priorities are Germany, Georgia, the United States, and EU countries such as Lithuania and Latvia.

Exhibitors say that Prodexpo fully meets their export expectations. "Prodexpo is a wonderful opportunity to make new contacts not only within our vast country but also abroad. We have found plenty of partners from Kazakhstan, Iran, China, and Azerbaijan at the exhibition. This is very interesting and promising," said ABI Product Sales Director Roman Otodraka.

On top of it, Prodexpo 2019 broke every record last year with 2,417 exhibitors from 69 countries and 66,915 visitors from 112 countries. More than 2,450 companies from 70 countries will take part in the exhibition this year.

The export potential of Russian exhibitors is broadening thanks to exhibition visitors, mostly representatives of retail and wholesale trade. According to registration data, 29% of visitors (over 19,400 specialists) export food and beverages. Their main markets are Kazakhstan, Belarus, China, Turkey, Thailand, Latin America, Georgia, Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia.

Notably, all Prodexpo participants, both Russian and foreign, broaden the geography of their supplies, and not only with Russian regions. Foreign exhibitors also find new clients and partners from Russia and other countries at the show.

"The federal and international nature of Prodexpo is its advantage. We make contact with potential partners from the entire country, as well as CIS states and even Europe. For instance, as a result of Prodexpo 2019, Sica S.r.l found a permanent partner in Germany. Besides, many Prodexpo exhibitors have become our clients! The participation in Prodexpo has evolved into an integral part of the strategies of both companies. We will be participating in Prodexpo for the third time in 2020," said Yevgeny Kravchenko, a representative of renowned Italian food companies Pucci S.r.l. and Sica S.r.l. in the CIS.

According to Romir, 92% of the exhibitors are satisfied with the quality and quantity of business contacts made at the show, 98% are ready to recommend participation in the exhibition to their colleagues, and 91% speak highly of Prodexpo's efficiency.

The 27th edition of Prodexpo will take place at EXPOCENTRE Fairgrounds on February 10–14, 2020.
