The 27th edition of the International Exhibition for the Chemical Industry and Science – Khimia 2024 – has opened at EXPOCENTRE Fairgrounds, Moscow.

About 500 companies from Russia, Belarus, China, India, Iran, Kazakhstan, Turkiye and Uzbekistan are participating in this year's exhibition. Its floor space is more than 20,000 square metres. Almost half of the companies are newcomers to Khimia.

Equipment and engineering are among the important topics of the exhibition and its conference programme. In addition, logistics and foreign trade will be in the centre of attention.

This year's conference programme includes more than 30 events. The plenary session of the 12th Moscow International Chemical Forum was the centerpiece. It was attended by Mikhail Yurin, Russian Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade.

The official opening ceremony of Khimia 2024 took place before the start of the forum.

Dmitry Kurochkin, Vice-President at the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, read out a greeting from Sergey Katyrin, President at the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and wished the exhibitors quality business contacts that would turn into contracts.

Viktor Ivanov, President at the Russian Chemists Union, emphasised that the exhibition is a place for meetings where opinions, achievements, losses and so on can be exchanged. He reminded that Khimia had a long history.  It became the first international trade show in our country in 1965.

Maxim Fateev, Director General at EXPOCENTRE, noted that the chemical industry is growing, and Khimia is the exhibition that has been showing its achievements for many years. According to Maxim Fateev, it is rewarding that this year’s conference programme includes educational projects and welcomes young people who will replace today's industry professionals.

Khimia 2024 is open for professional visitors until 24 October.
