The Conference on the Bakery Industry: Global Challenges and New Opportunities took place within the conference programme of Agroprodmash 2024. The event was organised by the Moscow Chamber of Commerce and Industry with the support of the Moscow Department of Trade and Service, and Russian State Research Institute of Baking Industry.  

The conference opened with an award ceremony for the winners of the Moscow Quality competition in the Bakery Products nomination. It was attended by Vladimir Platonov, President at the Moscow Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Sergey Beletsky, Director at Russian Research Institute of Confectionery Industry, Marina Kostyuchenko, Director at Russian State Research Institute of Baking Industry, representatives of the Moscow government, and industry experts.

The Moscow Quality competition is organised by the Moscow Chamber of Commerce and Industry under the auspices of the Moscow City Duma. It has been held annually since 1997. It is aimed at supporting and promoting domestic goods and services and developing the Moscow consumer market.

The best goods in various categories are determined by the voting results of Muscovites during the year. Votes are collected among Moscow residents in offline and online formats, including on the Active Citizen website. The voting results are announced after the summarisation of the results on the website of the Moscow Quality project.

After the awarding of the competition winners, there was a detailed discussion on the current problems of the domestic food market. The participants discussed the state programme to support domestic manufacturers of baking equipment, issues of increasing labour productivity, optimising costs and production processes, and other topics.
