The Prodexpo 2021 International Exhibition continues its work at Expocentre Fairgrounds. Today the accompanying programme included the conference Artificial Intelligence for Food Production organised by Expo Market Equipment OOO.
In her welcoming address to the conference participants, Oksana Kuznetsova, Director of the Gorbatov Federal Research Centre for Food Systems of the Russian Academy of Sciences, noted the relevance of the food production automation. After the pandemic, food manufacturers must necessarily consider two main factors for business development: stability of quality and reduction of production costs. New automation technologies can have a major impact on cost reduction, which will help companies to reach a new level of production, says Oksana Kuznetsova. She highlighted a trend such as online food sales and the impact of digitalisation on product quality: “The digital footprint is becoming one of the most important product features”.
Anna Prozorova, Commercial Director of Matller, continued the theme of implementing artificial intelligence in production. She told in detail about IT technologies managed to change business processes in the food production, especially in places where staff performed monotonous work. “The main pain of production is low labour efficiency”, Anna Prozorova stressed. Thanks to the work of the new software mentioned by the speaker employees become more motivated, which leads to a significant increase in productivity. Similar technologies are already being used by some major Russian food producers.
Oleg Tsvetkov, Development Director of Russkoye Pole Agro Holding, made a presentation dedicated to the analysis of practical application of video analytics systems on the example of Pavlovskaya Poultry Farm. The conference participants were interested in a wide range of issues related to the use of the presented technologies.
