At Russian Health Care Week within the MedTravelExpо. Medical Clinics. Health and Spa Resorts exhibition the forum on Health Care Ecosystem: A New Look at Preservation and Restoration of Health was held.
The event, organised by EXPOCENTRE AO in partnership with the Health Care Development Centre of Skolkovo Moscow School of Management, brought together managers and employees of private public clinics, pharmaceutical companies, wellness industry organisations, and representatives of industry regulators.
The moderator of the sessions and discussion moderator Marina Veldanova, Professor of Practice, Director at the Health Care Development Centre of Skolkovo Moscow School of Management, drew attention to two very important thoughts that the participants discussed at the forum.
“In terms of developing the health care of the future, we need to operate with two concepts: a health care ecosystem, not just health care, and not just a system for effectively treating patients, but preserving and restoring health.”
Marina Veldanova introduced the Health Care Development Centre of Skolkovo Moscow School of Management, drawing attention to the fact that the Centre is engaged in the development and implementation of educational programmes that help to form professional managers in the field of health care, as well as conducting research in the field of effective management, economics and IT development of the health care system. The mission of the Centre is to contribute to the improvement of people’s quality of life by increasing the level of health through the promotion of effective and human-centred management approaches in the health ecosystem industries.
At the first session on Ecosystem Approach in Health Care: Challenges and Successful Practices the participants discussed why the ecosystem approach in health care today is a trend and a must for the conversation on health care development, what are the successful practices, what are the challenges of health care development through the ecosystem approach.
The expert reports provided answers to the questions why it is impossible to develop an organisation at an advanced pace today without the concept of a health ecosystem; how to determine who is a participant in the health ecosystem and on what principles it is built; how to build a strategy for one’s own development within the ecosystem and successfully implement it.
Sergey Chudakov, Co-Director of Preventive Medicine at the National Technological Initiative, made a presentation on Health of the Healthy ecosystem. In particular, he spoke about the potential of the Health of the Healthy ecosystem, “Such a direction as preventive medicine is growing very rapidly. In seven or eight years, there will be a threefold increase in services for the preservation of health. The growth rate of this sector is twice as high as in academic medicine. This could not remain unnoticed by the leadership of our country. In 2024, the National Technological Initiative (NTI) was set up as a strategic direction for the development of various industries and medicine in particular. Medicine will evolve towards predictive, preventive, and partnership medicine.”
The topics of the presentations touched upon ecosystem as a basis for efficiency in business and business communities, growth opportunities for industry leaders in the face of growing competition, and infrastructure for digital ecosystems. These topics were discussed by Yulia Cheraneva, Director General at MacroClinic, Olga Ovsyannikova, Commercial Director at Invitro, and Alexander Naslednikov, representative of RWD Marketplace.
The forum programme will continue with the sessions on Client Focus in Health Care as a Recognised Necessity, Development Vector of the Pharmaceutical Industry in the New Environment, Well-being and Modern Approaches to Support Active Longevity. Practitioners will share cases on the uniqueness of patient-centricity, global standards for building a centric organisation, talk about breakthrough technologies in the pharmaceutical industry, whether the Russian pharmaceutical market is able to meet the needs of health care on the way to innovation and modern technologies, a set of factors affecting the quality of life of people and much more.
