Electrical equipment, lighting engineering, building automation – this is the thematic scope of the 29th edition of the Elektro 2021 International Exhibition opened today at Expocentre Fairgrounds.

The exhibition has been held by EXPOCENTRE AO under the auspices of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry since 1972. Today it is the leading show in Russia and the CIS for the achievements of the global and Russian electrical industry.

Opening the exhibition, Sergey Selivanov, First Deputy Director General of EXPOCENTRE AO, expressed satisfaction with the return to the traditional face-to-face format of the events, which undoubtedly makes participation of exhibitors more effective than online communication.

Last year, due to the pandemic, Elektro did not take place. All the more significant were the efforts of the organisers, who, despite the persistent difficult situation in the world, were able to organise a representative international pavilions with 13 countries at this year's trade show. Companies from Austria, China, France, Germany, Italy, the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Korea, the Republic of Moldova, Russia, Serbia, Slovakia, Spain and Turkey are showcasing their latest developments on an area of around 12,000 square metres (gross).

This year, companies from Turkey expanded their presence at the exhibition. The Ministry of Economy of the Slovak Republic organised a group stand. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the participation of some foreign companies was complicated and not all of them were able to come. Their products are presented by Russian partners.

The product sectors of the exhibition cover the entire spectrum of technologies and electrical equipment for the power industry, construction, transport and urban infrastructure. They feature high-voltage and low-voltage equipment, lighting equipment, cable and wire products, electrical installation products, metering, control and measurement devices, building automation, and innovative solutions in the field of energy efficiency.

The Elektro 2021 exhibition is complemented by an extensive conference programme. It is organised in the form of thematic days. Today is the Day of Science and Technology. There will be the Customer Day on June 8, the Engineer Day on June 9 and the Manufacturer Day on June 10. There will be thematic conferences, seminars, panels, workshops, and focus sessions.

The exhibition runs till June 10.
