subscribe to news Three-day educational marathon opens at EXPOCENTRE Fairgrounds

Today, the 2^nd New Knowledge Federal Educational Marathon has opened its doors at EXPOCENTRE Fairgrounds. The marathon is associated with the national Knowledge Day. It is organised by the Znaniye (Knowledge) Russian Society. More than 150 prominent Russian and foreign scientists, statesmen and public figures, as well as world cultural and sports stars, historians, inventors, publicists and successful entrepreneurs will act as lecturers and mentors.

As part of this 2^nd educational marathon, thousands of lecturers, educators and mentors travel to Russian schools and speak to children in public classes. Today, Russian President Vladimir Putin held an open lesson for students of a school at the Russian Children's Centre ‘Ocean’ in Vladivostok, thus launching the marathon.

The initiative, called Share Your Knowledge, has been supported by representatives of public associations, statesmen, governors and heads of major Russian corporations. In their turn, schoolchildren and students visit dozens of enterprises in the format of Open Days, where they are able not only to broaden their horizons but also to meet potential employers.

The main venues for the event are studios in six Russian cities. The Moscow venue, EXPOCENTRE, hosts the Knowledge track, the St Petersburg venue hosts Sport, the Kazan venue hosts Digital World and Media, the Nizhny Novgorod venue hosts History and Culture, the Vladivostok venue hosts Business, and the Sochi venue hosts Science and Technology.
