May 21, 2020, a video conference discussion devoted to the improvement of state support measures for Russian participants in international exhibitions and conventions was organised with support of Russian Export Center AO, the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and the Russian Union of Exhibitions and Fairs.  

The event participants included General Director of Russian Export Center AO Veronika Nikishina, Vice President of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Vladimir Dmitriev, President of the Russian Union of Exhibitions and Fairs Sergey Voronkov, representatives of leading exhibition companies, and the industry’s experts. EXPOCENTRE was represented by First Deputy Director General Nikolay Gusev and Head of the Overseas Events and External Relations Department Irina Lyaschenko.

During the discussion, the representatives of EXPOCENTRE brought forward several proposals related to time limits of tenders, cost reductions for exhibition operators, research of the market, where exhibitions are planned to be carried out, and many more.

A new form of subsidy support for Russian exporters, proposed by Russian Export Center, was presented during the discussion. Other topics included the drawing up of the list of relevant exhibitions, opportunities to carry out exhibitions and business missions online, preliminary research of the foreign market and overseas exhibitions, as well as the most important aspects of cooperation between Russian Export Center AO and exhibition operators.
