The Research-to-Practice Conference on Innovative Leadership Support: Opportunities and Prospects took place as part of the conference programme of Neftegaz 2024. It was organised by EXPOCENTRE AO jointly with the Russian National Committee of the World Petroleum Council Association. Valery Bessel, Executive Vice President at NewTech Services, moderated the event.
Valery Yazev, Honoured Worker of the Oil and Gas Industry of the Russian Federation, gave a welcoming speech and pointed out that at present the oil and gas business and the state are facing an extremely difficult task that is not to lose their positions due to the current political and economic situation.
The conference had three sections. The first was dedicated to industry trends. Oleg Zhdaneyev, Head of the Centre of Competences for Technological Development in the Fuel and Energy Sector, the Russian Energy Agency of the Russian Ministry of Energy, answered questions from the event participants. He spoke about the state of the oil and gas industry and the fact that its well-being is based on achieving technological sovereignty of related industries. He also mentioned the projects that would make it possible to achieve this technological sovereignty.
Another section was dedicated to digitalisation and automation. Ivan Lebedev, General Director at Prompribor-R, gave a report on import substitution and import independence in the field of control and measuring instruments and automation. Ivan Lebedev spoke about his company's experience in import substitution and a number of challenges faced by Prompribor-R.
Alexander Andreev, Deputy Director General at the Coordination Council for Solid Organic Household Waste Management, spoke at the third section devoted to innovations. His report covered waste recycling in the oil and gas industry. The speaker touched upon the production of alternative fuels, disposal of waste from rotational camps and production fields, and the benefits of separate waste collection.
The conference also included reports on the digital leadership of Russian oil and gas companies, domestic innovative solutions to ensure the safety of oil and gas facilities, the main development trends of the nature management system in the territory of Ugra, and much more.
